Senior Vice President, Chief Information Officer
Bernie Rice is the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Senior Vice President (SVP).  He joined ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ in 1999 and is based in Jacksonville, Florida. He was named CIO in 2008, and is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of Information Systems supporting ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ clinical operations in six states and policy and prevention work in 25 states.
His computing and technology experience has enabled ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ to advance its mission and realize its strategic destination by leveraging its investment in technology. Bernie has helped build ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ into an award-winning organization, most recently achieving HIMSS Stage 7 for both inpatient and ambulatory operations. ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ has also been continually recognized as a Most Wired organization. Prior to joining ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½, he served in the United States Air Force and as an Information Systems Manager with Anheuser-Busch Companies, LLC.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Bernie attended the University of North Florida where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Â In addition, he has achieved the Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) certification from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME), where he is a member. In addition to CHIME, he is also a member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS).
