Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program

Program Overview: Primary Care

ֲý Children's Hospital, Delaware primary care APP fellowship is a 12-month program designed to incorporate primary care continuity clinic days, protected didactic training, and subspecialty clinic rotations into the fellow’s first year of professional advanced practice.

PNP fellows are paired with a pediatric primary care mentor in their primary care clinic setting for a 12-month period to facilitate transition to practice.

What is the goal of the fellowship?

Postgraduate training programs for Advanced Practice Nurses are growing. The intent of the fellowship is to provide a year-long, postgraduate training experience that allows for protected learning time, exposure to pediatric subspecialties and experience in a primary care continuity clinic. Through the program year, the successful fellow will increase their confidence and efficiency in primary care delivery.

What is the start date of the fellowship?

The start date is October 21, 2024.

How many fellows are in each cohort?

There are four fellowship positions available annually.

Is this a paid fellowship?

As a primary care fellow, you receive an entry level salary and full benefits.

Do you interview candidates for the fellowship?

Candidates for interviews will be selected following review of application materials. Interviews will be conducted during application window.

Must I sign an employment contract if I'm accepted?

No, we do not require fellows to sign a commitment to work for ֲý following the fellowship. It is our hope, however, that our fellows will remain with ֲý after completion of the fellowship. Employment following the fellowship is not guaranteed.
