Infrastructure That Improves Research
Our Location in Lake Nona Medical City
An area of Orlando called Lake Nona Medical City is home to ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Children's Hospital, Florida and the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. A dedicated 650-acre health and life sciences park, Medical City is designed to advance health care by clustering health care and bioscience facilities to accelerate innovation.
PEDSnet
Because ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Children's is one of the few health systems in the Southeast selected to participate in PEDSnet, NCH can lead the region with research-based biomedical discoveries, technological advances and treatment protocols.
Multistate System Access to EHRs
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is the nation's only integrated children's health system with two freestanding hospitals. Care teams are connected across the miles with award-winning electronic health record technology, which residents can access for scholarly activity.
Precision Medicine
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ is one of the few organizations in the country with the capability to collect genetic and pharmacogenomics data from a large and diverse population of children, and then use that data to guide treatment decisions.
Roche Molecular Center of Excellence
ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ Children's Hospital, Florida, the University of Central Florida College of Medicine and Roche Diagnostics Corporation establish and maintain a Roche Molecular Center of Excellence (MCOE) within Medical City. Roche's network enables noncompeting regional laboratories across the country to collaborate and capitalize on scientific knowledge in molecular testing.
