Get to Know Me
I grew up in sunny South Florida and always knew I would work in health care. I began my pediatric nursing career in 2004 and worked in different capacities, including trauma/Emergency Department, travel nursing, management, and I earned a master’s in nursing education from Florida Atlantic University (2009). In 2016, I earned my pediatric acute care nurse practitioner degree from University of Florida. I am also a mommy to two awesome boys.Â
Why I Treat Children
When I initially attended college, I wanted to become a nurse midwife and deliver babies. During nursing school, I was enamored by one of my pediatric clinical professors and her vast knowledge and passion for children. I was immediately drawn to pediatric nursing. ""I believe that children are our future, treat them well and let them lead the way."" So sang Whitney Houston, one of my favorite singers.
What I'm Passionate About
I am living my passion every day. I have a chosen a profession that affords me the opportunity to care for children in all different capacities of health and well-being. I am also passionate about being a health care advocate for children and ensuring that they are receiving optimal care and treatment.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I try to make a difference by providing family-centered care. Listening and understanding cultural contexts are just two ways that I work with patients and their families to help children heal and feel better.
