Get to Know Me
Anna Kolano, MD, is a board-certified pediatrician. She is an advocate for early literacy and reading to children. She feels privileged to care for children as they grow.
Why I Treat Children
I always knew I wanted to be a doctor, but I didn’t know what kind of doctor I wanted to become. I enjoyed my pediatrics rotation so much that choosing to be a pediatrician was ultimately an easy decision.
What I'm Passionate About
I’m passionate about newborn care. There’s so much education that needs to happen for new parents. It’s such a special time for the family, especially if it’s a first child. I feel privileged that parents have chosen me to be a part of that experience. Parents don’t often have the family support that they might have had 50 years ago, so they really rely on their family doctor for information.I’m privileged to do what I do; I love my job every day. I have been with ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ since 1996. Some of my former patients, now all grown up, are choosing me as their children’s pediatrician. It’s incredible! I’ve made such an impact on these people as children that they’re willing to trust their babies to me. I love that I can provide continuity of care within families.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I’m an advocate for early literacy education and reading to your children. I’m part of the Reach Out and Read program in our office. Also, I do my best to support a new mother in her efforts to breastfeed.
