Get to Know Me

I always felt that caring for others was my calling. Knowing this, my parents and my big brother (a medical student at the time) suggested I become a doctor. A small seed sown as a child persisted and with hard work, here I am. My proudest moment was when my mom, despite her failing health, came from Jamaica to see me graduate from medical school.

Why I Treat Children

The opportunity to touch the life of a child, even briefly, is a humbling experience. Caring for children in the operating room allows me to be with families during a very stressful time. I try to help them cope and understand what to expect, whether the child has one surgery, or multiple surgeries or other procedures. Seeing these kids smile days or even months later means the world to me.

What I'm Passionate About

I’m passionate about helping parents get the information they need to feel more comfortable what is happening to their child. I’m most happy when I see a relaxed, comfortable family during the recovery period of their child’s surgery. This environment positively impacts the healing process in so many ways.
