He completed his medical school at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan, residency at Emory University in Atlanta, and Cardiology Fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, including a senior fellowship in cardiac pathology and outpatient cardiology. He worked as an attending at Boston Medical Center before joining ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ in 2020. He has vast experience caring for diverse patients from rural villages in Pakistan to inner-city urban populations at Boston Medical Center. His research interests include understanding gaps in care with follow-up adherence for patients and how they relate to social determinants of health. He is a learning health systems researcher and was awarded a K12 grant through AHRQ as part of the PEDSnet collaborative. He is also part of the Quality Improvement and Patient Safety (QIPS) course at Thomas Jefferson University and working on obtaining a Master's in population health by 2024. Dr. Zaidi's current research project is improving hypertension detection using implementation science. The first aim is to understand the barriers and facilitators to hypertension recognition through interviews with diverse caregivers, care providers, and hospital leadership. This will then be used to develop a toolkit of strategies and interventions developed by a multi-stakeholder team, including diverse patients and families. Then the toolkit of strategies will be tested for acceptability and feasibility by the diverse caregivers and care providers. The eventual goal of this project is to develop a learning health system at ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ by creating a system for hypertension recognition that is evolving, sustainable and translatable across the ÀÖ²¥´«Ã½ enterprise.
