Coarctation of the Aorta
Coarctation of the aorta (COA) happens when the aorta — the main artery that carries blood from the heart to the rest of the body — is too narrow. This is usually a congenital (present at birth) heart defect and when the narrowing is mild, your child may not even have symptoms.
